Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Student Success

Brandon Smith has worked professionally as an educator, director, playwright and actor for over ten years. Professor Smith has worked as an actor in numerous regional and national commercials, as a voiceover artist, as a motion capture artist for video games, and as an actor with Dallas Shakespeare, The Plano Repertory Theatre, The Tyrone Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, and Playmaker’s Repertory Theatre in Chapel Hill. Brandon is currently writing a number of new plays, working on two books, and conducting research on early Mayan culture and storytelling. He is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.

Professional Affiliations: Texas State Vice Chair (KCACTF, 2011-12), KCACTF Respondent (Region VI, 2012), QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) Committee Member (Bandersnatch, 2012), UGROW Member - a month-long cross-disciplinary research and build project with engineering and theatre students to create puppets and mechancal creatures (Bandersnatch, 2011), Co-founder of Flying Man Productions (2006-present), Adjudicator for high school one act play festivals (Texas University Interscholastic League, 2006-12), Respondent (KCACTF, Region IV, current).
