Young Writers' Conference

Looking Glass Rock Young Writers’ Conference is a one-day conference where local high school students visit the Brevard College campus to attend creative writing workshops led by Brevard College faculty, meet LGRWC faculty, and connect with other young writers. Conference attendees are also encouraged to attend the LGRWC public readings at Brevard College and the Transylvania County Library.

High school students from all local schools are eligible to attend. There is no cost to apply. The cost to attend, which includes workshops and lunch, is $75.

All applications will be considered for our writing scholarships and awards.

Submit up to 20 double-spaced pages of prose (fiction/nonfiction) or 10 pages of poetry, with one poem per page. Your work may be published or unpublished, as you will be able to submit a different manuscript for workshop upon acceptance.

Please do not put your name in the text or file name of your document, as submissions will read anonymously by our screeners.
