About Dr. R. Chad Holt

Dr. Holt brings over 25 years of experience in higher education admissions, financial aid, and scholarships to Brevard College. He has helped thousands of students and families navigate college search, admissions, financial aid, and enrollment. He shares his expertise with peers at regional and national conferences and began his career at Brevard College in 2012.

Dr. Holt serves as an adjunct faculty member at Brevard College, teaching courses in communication, visual communication, rhetoric, and writing.

Dr. Holt earned his Ph.D. at East Carolina University, where he researched the semiotic meaning of the Wall built around the West Bank and how it has shaped discourse among Palestinians, Israelis, and internationals. His interests include the Israeli-Palestinian issue, semiotics, propaganda, and the impact of power on language use.

Dr. Holt is also an avid mountain biker and traveler. He often rides mountain, road, and gravel bikes with students. His wife of over 25 years, Stephanie, is also an avid mountain biker, backpacker, and hiker. They have two furry children, Bennett and Leeona.
