Thank you for filling out Brevard College’s Music Audition Application! All students wishing to major in music or earn a music scholarship must audition for the faculty prior to entering Brevard College. Music faculty encourage you to audition no later than April 1, 2019.

Repertoire requirements:

All students should prepare two contrasting solo selections (single movement or song/aria). Instrumentalists should also be prepared to play scales and sight-read.  Voice selections should be performed from memory.  Voice auditions may include guided vocalizing and aural recall.  An accompanist will be provided for voice auditions.  For specific repertoire questions, please email musicinfo@brevard.edu indicating your instrument: your request will be forwarded to the appropriate applied teacher.

2018-2019 Audition Dates:

• Saturday, February 9, 2019
• Saturday, March 16, 2019

Audition Results:

You should receive a letter with your audition results within three weeks of your audition.  Scholarship award letters, contingent upon your acceptance to the College, will be sent from the Admissions Office.  The awarding of scholarships is dependent on several factors, some of them resulting from your family’s personal financial situation, as well as your own academic record and music talent potential.  If you haven’t supplied all the information required by the Admissions Office, please do so right away.

Awards:

Music major awards are larger than non-major awards, and both come with specific ensemble participation requirements.  Award amounts are determined by the strength of your audition, departmental need, and other factors.  If a music scholarship is awarded, that scholarship will replace the previously awarded merit scholarships.
