Amber Hunter-Henley has been named the Head Coach of Brevard College Cheerleading, announced Associate Vice President for Athletics Dr. Myranda Crews.
“We are thrilled to welcome Amber to the Brevard College family,” stated Dr. Crews. “We were impressed by her passion for mentoring young people, commitment to excellence, and vision for building a program that reflects the values of Brevard College. We are confident she will make an immediate impact on our campus community and lead our cheer program to new heights.”
Hunter-Henley brings a wealth of experience to BC, both as a former NCAA DI Cheerleader and professional NFL cheerleader. She will begin her position effective May 1.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the head cheer coach at Brevard College,” commented Coach Hunter-Henley. “I’m excited for the year ahead, not just for what we can accomplish on the mat, but for the relationships we’ll build and the growth we’ll experience together. I’m committed to giving this program my very best, fostering a culture rooted in encouragement, resilience, and pride to help create a positive, uplifting energy that can be felt across the entire campus community.”
From 2019-25, Hunter-Henley was a Cheerleader and Line Captain for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. While with the Falcons, she served as Line Captain for two years, leading choreography, teaching, and rehearsals.
Hunter-Henley was selected as an NFL Pro Bowl Cheerleader for 2025, representing the Falcons internationally. She traveled abroad to London and South Korea for performances and community events, while also representing the Falcons at the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games.
While a member of the Falcons cheer squad, she performed at all home games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, community events, and conventions. Hunter-Henley managed social media for Falcons Cheerleading, increasing Instagram followers to 52.2K, creating and managing content, and coordinating promotional campaigns.
In addition to her professional cheerleading experience, Hunter-Henley has served as a gymnastics and dance instructor across metro Atlanta. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Ace Studios entertainment team, performing in music videos, live events throughout the Atlanta area, a national tour with recording artist Alex Jean, and festival performances alongside Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae.
Hunter-Henley earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. While a student at Stetson, she served as a Student Ambassador, was a captain of the Top Hats Dance team, was a member of the Cheerleading team, and served as the marketing director for the Black Student Union.
