Call for Entries: Asheville Art Museum’s Third Annual New Media Juried Exhibition

Eligibility

Open to all North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia based artists working in single channel, screen-based new media, including video art, experimental animation, and timebased media.

Form and Type of Submittal

  • Two entries per person allowed
  • Each segment or work should be a maximum of eight minutes.
  • Entries must be submitted via pdf with links to the artist’s Vimeo account, YouTube, or personal server from which the entry is streaming. Please include passwords to access.
  • A bio or resume, and an artist statement no longer than one page, each in pdf form, is required.

Jury and Selection Process

Selection for this exhibition will be made by Asheville Art Museum curatorial team members and two outside jurors. All artists will be notified of their status by mid-March. Approximately 10-15 artists will be selected as finalists and will be asked to submit final work in noncompressed, high-resolution format.

Exhibition Information

10-15 finalists will have their work(s) included in the Asheville Art Museum’s exhibition Prime Time: Third Annual New Media Juried Exhibition in the Museum’s New Media Gallery. The opening for this exhibition will take place from 5:30-7:30pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015, with a special preview screening of the finalists’ works followed by  followed by a reception. The films will be screened in the New Media Gallery until August 2, 2015.
