Destiny Williams has been named Director of Compliance and Strength & Conditioning Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Williams, a double graduate (2021 B.S., 2023 M.S.) of Brevard College, will start in her new role on Monday, September 11.
“We can’t wait to get started with Destiny as a member of our athletics administration team,” said Nash. “With her experience both as a student-athlete at Brevard College and in coaching, Destiny will be a major resource for the Tornados both in the areas of compliance and strength & conditioning.”
Williams’ role at BC will be primarily in the area of compliance to go along with the newly created position of Strength & Conditioning Coach. Williams arrives to Brevard after most recently completing a strength & conditioning internship with NCAA Division I Furman University.
“I am thrilled to embark on my new role as Director of Compliance for my alma mater, as it offers a unique opportunity to merge my passion for collegiate sports with my dedication to upholding integrity and fairness,” said Williams. “This position allows me to contribute to the institution that shaped me while ensuring that our athletic programs continue to operate with the highest ethical standards.”
Throughout her internship at Furman, Williams gained valuable experience working with the sports of women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, cross country and track & field. She has also recently worked at the Fitness Factory in Brevard, North Carolina where she has gained additional skill sets.
Last season, Williams served as Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Brevard College women’s basketball team as part of Head Coach Donald Hudson’s coaching staff. Williams helped guide the Tornados to a 16-10 overall record and a trip to the USA South Conference tournament semifinals. Her experience in coaching extends even further with the completion of an internship with the Brevard College volleyball coaching staff in 2021-22.
One of the most accomplished student-athletes in the history of Brevard College’s women’s basketball program, Williams was named First Team All-Conference in 2021-22 and the college’s Female Athlete of the Year. She completed her BC playing career with a whopping 1,302 points, 689 rebounds, 267 steals and 205 assists in 103 games played.
A native of Aiken, South Carolina, Williams graduated from Brevard College Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a minor in coaching in May of 2021. A Dean’s List student every semester and USA South Academic All-Conference performer, Williams was a member of multiple honors societies and named the college’s Outstanding Senior in Health Sciences. Most recently, Williams completed a Master of Science Summa Cum Laude in Health and Human Performance from Brevard College.
