Jacob Tutje has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Tutje arrives at Brevard College from Iowa State University.
“We can’t wait to have Jacob on board as a key piece of our athletic training staff,” said Nash. “He will be a tremendous asset in keeping our student-athletes healthy.”
Tutje will begin his duties at Brevard College on August 1.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Brevard Athletic Training team, ” said Tutje. “As a new grad, I am ready to dive right in and get started. I can’t wait to meet everyone, and I look forward to a great first year.”
While completing his Master of Science in Athletic Training degree at Iowa State University, Tutje has accumulated significant experience around the NCAA Division I Cyclones as well on the JUCO and high school level.
Last year, Tutje worked as a Graduate Athletic Training student with the Iowa State Track & Field program where he assisted the athletic training staff in daily treatment for athletes and traveled to multiple road events. In 2021, he worked as an Undergraduate Athletic Training Student with the ISU Football program.
This past academic year, Tutje served as a Graduate Athletic Training Student at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone, Iowa, working with a variety of sports. In the Fall of 2022, he also gained experience at Ballard High School in Huxley, Iowa.
Active in the community, Tutje has given back by providing his skills to the Special Olympics and the Iowa State High School State Wrestling tournament.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Tutje holds certifications in American Red Cross Life Support CPR/First Aid and Blood Born Pathogen.
Tutje graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor in Science in Athletic Training and this year earned a Master’s of Athletic Training degree, also from ISU.
