Myranda Nash, Director of Athletics/Executive Director of Strategy & Operations at Brevard College, was recently named a finalist for The Leadership Playbook’s 2022-23 Administrator of the Year award.

Nash is entering her sixth year in her current role as Director of Athletics and her 11th overall year at Brevard College. In addition to her responsibilities leading BC’s athletic programs, she also serves as the College’s Executive Director of Strategy and Operations.
In her time as Director of Athletics at Brevard College, Nash successfully navigated the NCAA Division III membership process which included the granting of a one-year bypass in the reclassification timeline. The 2020-2021 season marked the first year the Tornados were eligible for postseason play. In their inaugural NCAA Division III season and despite the plethora of challenges brought up by COVID-19, BC earned its first USA South Championship with a West Division title for the men’s soccer team to go along with a divisional co-championship in football.
This past season, the BC men’s soccer team won the school’s first USA South Conference Championship and became the first Brevard program to compete in the NCAA Division III National Championship. In 2022-23, the Brevard College men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and baseball teams all qualified for postseason play by earning trips to the USA South championships. Additionally, the BC men’s and women’s track & field programs hosted the USA South Conference championships on the Brevard College campus for the first time. Moreover, the ten-time national champion Brevard College cycling program once again finished as the top mountain biking team in the eastern half of the United States.
In the classroom, 154 Brevard College student-athletes earned USA South All-Academic status in the 2022-23 season. Additionally, a school-record 54 Tornado student-athletes were named to the prestigious CSC Academic All-District team as part of the Academic All-American program. In total, BC student-athletes have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in eight consecutive semesters.
As Director of Athletics, Brevard College has seen major upgrades to its on-campus athletic facilities, including the expansion of Ives-Lemel Family Field that opened the door for the return of football back to campus and a state-of-the-art athletic fieldhouse that accommodates six sports.
Having progressed in roles of increasing responsibility, Nash initially worked at Brevard College from August 2010 through January 2016 where she served as the Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Upon leaving Brevard College in 2016, Nash became the Associate Athletic Director/ SWA at Division II Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She then returned to Brevard College in the summer of 2018 when she was named Director of Athletics.
In addition to her role as the Director of Athletics, Nash serves as the College’s Executive Director of Strategy and Operations, where she assists in the oversight of Information Technology, Human Resources, Facilities, and Strategic Planning departments.
The Statesville, North Carolina native graduated from Western Carolina University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management with a minor in leadership. She returned to WCU and earned her MBA in 2012, which she attained while working at Brevard College and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership from Anderson University.
