Brevard College women’s lacrosse freshman Caitlyn Nemeth became the first ever player in program history to be named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending on April 5, the league announced today.
Nemeth, a freshman from Old Bridge, New Jersey, helped guide the Tornados to a 1-1 week, with 14 goals and four assists. She had a career-high nine goals during a 20-19 loss to Lees-McRae, scoring the most goals in a single game while also dishing out two assists, for an 11 point day.
On Saturday, she scored five goals and had two assists as the Tornados defeated SAC foe Lincoln Memorial for the programs first ever conference win in program history. Her five goals were scored on five shots in the contest as well.
Nemeth leads the team in goals (40) and points (48) and is tied for the lead in assists with eight. She is third in the conference in goals, just six behind the leader from Tusculum.
The Tornados wrap-up its regular season on Saturday, April 11 against Coker for a 3 p.m. start.
