Sarah Perry has been named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Perry will start in her new role at the helm of the Tornados women’s lacrosse program on July 8.
“We are excited to announce the arrival of Coach Perry as our Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach,” said Myranda Nash, Brevard College Director of Athletics. “Sarah’s deep knowledge of the sport and her understanding of the student-athlete experience will make her a great fit as the next leader of the BC women’s lacrosse program.”
Perry arrives at Brevard College, having most recently served as Assistant Coach at Ferrum College in Virginia. Prior to her experience at Ferrum, Perry was Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach and an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
“I am so excited to start at Brevard College,” said Perry. “Having played in college and coached now for a few years, I feel confident in the strengths that I will bring to the BC program. I look forward to coming in with our returning squad and hitting the ground running!”
At Ferrum this past season, Perry assisted in recruiting, practice planning, strength & conditioning and academic advising, plus equipment and apparel procurement. On the field, she helped guide the Panthers to a 10-7 overall record and a trip to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Playoffs in 2024.
Additionally, Perry managed social media for the Panthers and initiated the college’s first Morgan’s Message chapter to raise awareness to mental health for student-athletes. On the academic side, Perry was a Visiting Instructor for two different undergraduate college courses at Ferrum.
At NC Wesleyan during the 2022-23 academic year, Perry’s responsibilities as Assistant Coach included recruiting, practice planning, strength and conditioning, academic advising and equipment maintenance. Moreover, she also handled social media and initiated a Morgan’s Message program at NCWU.
Perry began her coaching career as Assistant Coach at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, Later, she helped coach the Valley Select Lacrosse team in Roanoke, Virginia.
A four-year student-athlete and a two-year captain at NCAA Division III Randolph College, Perry earned All-Conference honors from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in 2021. She also was named ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week twice during her career and currently holds the league record for goals in a single game with 13. During her four years with the Wildcats, Perry registered 153 career points on 124 goals and 29 assists to go along with 109 ground balls and 215 draw controls.
Perry graduated from Randolph College with a Master of Arts degree in Coaching and Sport Leadership preceded by a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a double minor in History and Exercise Science.
