Silvia Parisi has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Parisi arrives at Brevard College from Winona State University in Minnesota and a clinical immersion with the renowned UCLA Gymnastics program.
“Silvia is going to be a huge addition to our athletic training staff here at Brevard College,” said Nash. “She will certainly benefit both the health and performance of the Tornado student-athletes.”
Parisi will begin her duties at Brevard College on August 1.
“I’m so excited to start this new adventure at Brevard College,” said Parisi. “When I had my first steps on campus I realized that I was becoming part of a family. I can’t wait to be challenged and to improve my skills as an Athletic Trainer at BC.”
This past academic year, Parisi has been on an athletic training clinical immersion with the seven-time national champion UCLA Gymnastics program while completing her Master’s degree from Winona State University.
While at Winona State, Parisi has served in clinical rotations in both the school’s Athletic Training Room and with the Warrior Football and Women’s Soccer programs. Additionally, she has worked in clinical rotations with Olmstead Clinic and St. Charles public school in Rochester, Minnesota.
Beyond her athletic training experience, Parisi has also served as a coach for several gymnastics teams in her home nation of Italy, while also continuing to work as a women’s gymnastics judge.
Parisi is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association, and the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association. She holds an American Red Cross certification in Basic Life Support as well as Blood Health Restriction and Mental Health First Aid.
Parisi graduated from Universita degli studi di Roma “Foro Italico” in Rome, Italy with fields of study in Sport and Exercise Science. This year, Parisi earned a Master’s of Athletic Training degree from Winona State University.
