About Dr. Laura Vance
Dr. Vance’s passion is for teaching sociology and anthropology, and her love for teaching is inspired and sustained by watching her students experience recognition and insight, as ideas connect to their own lives and experiences. Dr. Vance’s research focuses on changing roles of women in religions that emerged in nineteenth-century America, especially Seventh-day Adventism and Mormonism.
