The Brevard College volleyball program has secured the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award after stellar work in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic calendar year. Additionally, the Tornados have also earned Team Academic Honor Roll plaudits after finishing inside the top 20% of NCAA DIII schools in team GPA.
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.
The additional distinction of Team Academic Honor Roll celebrates programs in the top 20% of GPA for their division.
BC’s strong work in the classroom was evident by volleyball’s 14 total selections onto the 2024-25 USA South Academic All-Conference Team. Six total Tornados – Izzy Boulay, Katie DeSousa, Makenna Parkins, Justine Thomas, Justine St. Louis, and Jaxson Tumicki – all qualified for with-distinction honors (3.9 GPA or higher).
