The Brevard College women’s soccer team (10-1-4, 5-0-2 USA South) matched its season-high with four goals as the Tornados blanked William Peace (5-7-2, 1-5-0 USAS), 4-0 on Monday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Brevard’s four goals scored match its best output of the season, originally reached in a 4-0 triumph over Salem on Sept. 23.
Peyton Coggins, a junior transfer from Elon, North Carolina, by way of Lees-McRae, scored her first two goals in a Tornado uniform to help defeat the Pacers. Catie Barton notched her second goal of the season as Brevard racked up three first-half goals, while Janie Steele finished the scoring off in the 60th minute with her third goal of 2026.
Coggins gave the Tornados the early lead in the sixth minute of action as Abby Nunez’s free kick found the far side of the box, and Coggins slid the ball home to hand Brevard the early advantage. Coggins then doubled BC’s margin in the 15th minute, as a Mikayla Rubin found Maddy Loranger on the near sideline with a through ball. Loranger’s cross was finished by Coggins, giving the Tornados a two-goal cushion just 15 minutes into the match.
Barton ripped a left-footed shot into the upper-right corner off a pass from Carissa Jenkins in the 28th minute to add onto Brevard’s advantage, while Steele’s 60th minute strike off a corner by Natalie DeBella completed the four-goal effort from the Brevard offense.
The Tornados outshot the Pacers by 34, 37-3, and held a 21-1 advantage in on-target looks. BC won 16 total corner kicks, and the Brevard defense notched its 11th shutout of 2026.
Brevard continues its USA South Conference unbeaten streak in regular season matchups, which now reaches 27. The result extends BC’s stellar unbeaten stretch at home to 39 matches, dating back to Oct. 15, 2022.
Monday’s result sets up a pivotal clash between the two top teams in the USA South standings, as Southern Virginia visits Brevard on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
