Brevard College Presents London’s Longest Running Comedy: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)[revised][again]

3

Brevard College Theatre’s first mainstage show of the season is going to bring the fun!

What was known as London’s longest running comedy, boasting a solid nine years on the West End, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again] started as a silly little sketch between three ridiculous friends at renaissance festivals, moved to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and now has traveled across the world giving countless communities a literary event that nobody knew was possible, and even fewer people asked for.

Directed by faculty member Dan Toot, three intrepid Brevard College performers will tackle the Immortal Bard’s thirty-seven plays in ninety-seven minutes in a burst of creative genius that will leave you breathless with any combination of wonder, laughter, and disgust.

This play will run 97 minutes with one intermission. Audience members are invited to join the cast and crew for activities post performance! We will follow our Thursday opening night show with a toast for the cast and crew, our dear audience, and the opening of our ‘24/’25 season. After a two-show day , we will follow our Sunday night final performance with a closing night toast and a celebration of the (absolutely exhausted) cast, the tireless BC Theatre Company, and a raise of the glass to the next show of our season. (Please note: there will be no Saturday performance.)

Tickets can be purchased online at https://our.show/brevard-college/completeworks or at the door, if available. Ticket prices are $5 for students, staff and faculty, and $10 for the general public.

All performances will take place in the Morrison Playhouse at The Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts on the Brevard College campus.

Performance times are as follows:

  • Thursday September 26 at 7:00 pm
  • Friday September 27 at 7:00 pm
  • Sunday, September 29 at 2:30 pm and 7:00 pm
