The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its annual Academic All-Conference Team, as the Brevard College Department of Athletics has shattered a school record by earning 217 spots onto the squad – the second-most honorees by a single school in USA South history.
Brevard paced the USA South in Academic All-Conference honorees for the 2024-25 academic year, recording 29 more selections than the second-place institution (Southern Virginia, 188). Additionally, Tornado student-athletes recorded a historical honoree tally, second-most all-time in the league’s history (SVU, 219, 2022-23).
2024-25 marks the first academic year that the Tornados have led the USA South in Academic All-Conference recipients in the eight overall attempts.
In order to be selected to the USA South Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.30 GPA in each of the two semesters in the academic year to be eligible. Any student-athlete participating at any Conference institution is eligible thus the participant does not have to compete in a Conference-sponsored sport. Additionally, any student-athlete earning a 3.90 GPA or above earned the All-Academic honor “With Distinction”.
