Brevard College announces the grand reopening of Coltrane Hall, home to the new Student Success Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated building was held over Homecoming Weekend.

“We are proud to unveil the renovated Coltrane Hall and introduce our Student Success Center, made possible through the generous funding from the Cannon Foundation,” said President Bradley J Andrews. “Brevard College continues to invest in providing exceptional support and resources to its students.”

Coltrane Hall, a central structure on the Brevard College campus, underwent a transformative renovation over the summer. The project not only preserved the building’s original facade, but also crafted a modern, inviting space designed to nurture student success and well-being. The renovation moved quickly, only taking about 4 months from start to finish, from May through August.

Financing for the project came from a mixture of private donations, which included a generous grant from the Cannon Foundation.

“We are grateful for their vision and our shared commitment to nurture positive transformation in our students,” said Pat Wagner, Vice President of Alumni Affairs & Development.

College administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and esteemed guests came together on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the momentous occasion. The centerpiece of the event was the official unveiling of the new Student Success Center, a dedicated space created to empower students in their academic and personal journeys. The center offers a wealth of resources and services, including: Academic Advising, tutoring and study spaces, and Career Services.

“We needed a space that better suited the needs of our students today,” said Dr. Debbie D’Anna, Vice President for Student Success and Dean for Students. “The Student Success Center is designed to encourage relationship-building and promote proactive collaboration for each student’s college experience.”
