Brevard College’s campus is bustling once again. The college welcomes new students to campus this week for the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.

According to college officials, this year’s freshman class is one of the largest classes in the College’s history, with over 370 new students.

Brevard College has seen an extended upward trend in the size of the incoming class over the past several years. This increase is notable not only in light of a nationwide dip in college enrollment but also because this past year presented many difficult challenges for higher education recruitment, including a significantly delayed FAFSA, the federal government’s financial aid application instrument.

“It has been a difficult time for our industry, so we are extremely proud to see such a large incoming class in spite of the many challenges,” said Dr. Bradley J Andrews, President of Brevard College. “These students are arriving in Brevard with impressive academic, leadership, and involvement records. Each one of them brings promise and vibrancy to our mountain community and we are honored that they have chosen to work toward a degree from Brevard College.”

Students are participating in a full schedule of community-centered activities hosted by Campus Life. From large group games to an ice cream social at the president’s house, students are encouraged to connect with each other and to their home on campus.

Brevard College is consistently recognized as one of the best liberal arts colleges. The College’s focus on experiential learning, small class sizes, and location in the mountains of Western North Carolina near Asheville makes Brevard a top choice college for students around the world.
