Brevard College’s World Premier of Karl the Magnificent!

Porter Center at Night Xmas (2)

Brevard College Theatre’s first mainstage show of the season, Karl the Magnificent! is directed by Grace Dempsey, a senior Directing student. Karl the Magnificent! asks the questions: Does humanity deserve second chances to do good after doing bad, and are we, as a species and as individuals, capable of doing good? The play uses dark humor, farcical situations and uncomfortable moments to make a deep, metaphorical statement about the way humans treat one another.

Audience members are invited to join the cast and crew for activities post performance! This play runs about 70 minutes with no intermission. The Thursday night opening show will be followed by a toast for the cast and crew (and you!) The Saturday night performance will be followed by a talkback with our artists. The Sunday night final performance will be followed by a closing night toast to celebrate this senior capstone led by Grace Dempsey and the exciting work created by our Brevard College Theatre artists.

Tickets can be purchased online at brevardcollege.eventbrite.com or at the door, if available. Ticket prices are $5 for students and $10 for the general public. All performances will take place in the Morrison Playhouse at The Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts on the Brevard College campus.
