The Brevard College Baseball Program will host two free baseball camps for local children at The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County on Monday, Oct. 26 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“The mission of this free baseball camp is to reach out in service to the Brevard community and share, teach, and interact with the youth in the area through baseball,” said Matt McCay, head baseball coach for the Tornados. “The team has done this twice in the past, and this is a great way to get out into the community and connect with the young people in this area.”
McCay said the camp will cover skills such as throwing, hitting, base running, and catching, as well as the importance of education and sports, the lessons of teamwork and character through sports.
