Brevard College’s Friends of Fine Arts and lead sponsor, Bank of North Carolina, will host an elegant evening of dining, dancing and entertainment in support of the arts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 8 at the Porter Center for Performing Arts.
This is the fourth year for the “Love the Arts” Fine Arts Gala, and all proceeds from the fun-filled evening benefit Brevard College’s Art, Music and Theatre departments.
This year’s theme is “A Night in the Gallery…where after dark, the art comes to life.” The Porter Center will be transformed into a living gallery, featuring a behind-the-scenes look at how a performance or work of art actually “comes to life” through vignettes by various fine arts students. In addition, there will be featured performances by both music and theatre majors, as well as an exhibition of student art work. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on a wonderful array of silent auction items. A variety of one-of-a-kind items will also be available during a live auction led by Brevard Mayor and Brevard College Trustee Jimmy Harris. Delicious foods, Wine provided by Food Matters Market and dancing will round out the evening’s festivities.
Tickets for this special black tie optional event are $60 per person, and are available by calling 828-884-8211. They may also be purchased on the Brevard College campus at the Alumni House and the Dunham Music Building.
