Brevard College softball student-athletes Gabby Hooper and Grace Reynolds were each recently named 2023-24 Academic All-District performers, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).  It marked the second straight year that both Hooper and Reynolds have been selected to the Academic All-District team.

The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952.   The Softball Academic All-America teams will be announced next month.

Hooper, a junior from Robbinsville, North Carolina, is majoring in Health Science at Brevard College.  A consistent part of the BC infield, Hooper has started in 69 games in her three-year Tornado career.

Reynolds graduated earlier this month with a Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude in Business and Organizational Leadership.  A native of Troy, North Carolina, Reynolds pitched a team-high 85.1 innings in 24 appearances this past season for the Tornados.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
