Brevard College men’s tennis student-athlete Devin Horton was recently named a 2023-24 Academic All-District performer, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952. The Men’s Tennis Academic All-America teams will be announced next month.
Horton graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Organizational Leadership earlier this month from Brevard College. A multiple Dean’s List award selection at BC, Horton was also named an ITA Academic Scholar-Athlete in 2023. On the court in 2024, Horton won a total of six singles matches including a team-clinching victory over Southern Virginia in the USA South Conference Tournament
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men’s Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
