Senior goalkeeper Devin McCarragher was honored by the USA South Conference following an impressive season debut that saw him turn away 15 shot attempts en route to a USA South Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week accolade.
The award marks the second in McCarragher’s career, as the senior also won Defensive Player of the Week honors in his freshman season of 2019.
McCarragher saved 15 shots and also collected eight ground balls in Brevard’s narrow 6-4 defeat in the season-opener against Ferrum College at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
The Tornados will be back in action at home as Brevard hosts Oglethorpe University on Friday at 7 p.m.
