On Sunday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., BC senior music major Hunter Rogers will present his culminating recital in The Porter Center for Performing Arts’ Scott Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
Rogers will perform arias from Handel’s “Judas Maccabeus” and Lalo’s “Le Roi D’Ys,” as well as songs by Franz Schubert, Stefano Donaudy, Reynaldo Hanh, Gerald Finzi, Stephen Sondheim and others.
During his time at Brevard College, Rogers performed on three opera scenes programs, was a featured soloist with the choirs, and participated in several productions at the Asheville Lyric Opera.
“His growth has been tremendous,” says his teacher, Dr. Kathryn Gresham. “And this recital showcases his vocal and musical maturity.”
Rogers will be accompanied by pianist Janet Kelly.
