Six Brevard College voice students participated in the Fall Musical Theater Auditions sponsored by the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing this fall. Results were announced on Friday, November, 13, and four of six participants either advanced to the regional competition or placed in their categories.

K’nique, Alyssa and junior Theatre major Talley Sugg have advanced to the mid-Atlantic regional auditions in March, 2021. Senior Theatre major Claudia Dahlman placed third in her category.
Brevard College is active in the North Carolina chapter of NATS, with three of its faculty members serving on the board. Dr. Brittnee Siemon currently serves as Chapter Vice President and Auditions Chair, while Ms. Wendy Jones serves as the Chapter’s President. Dr. David Gresham is a past President and Regional Governor of the NC Chapter. Several Brevard students have placed first in their categories at the state and regional auditions, and a few have gone onto the national auditions held each summer. K’nique Eichelberger advanced to the national competition in Musical Theater last summer, and Blake Ellege, Class of 2014, competed in the inaugural National NATS Auditions in both the Classical and Musical Theater categories.
Brevard College expects to send a contingent of ten or more students to the classical auditions in February. As for our November winners, both of them had the exact same thing to say to their teachers: “I couldn’t have done it without you!” With gratitude to match their talent, these singers exemplify the spirit of Brevard College.
