Brevard College Theatre Presents Acute Exposure

Acute Exposure

Brevard College Theatre will present Acute Exposure by August Hakvaag on Thursday, Nov. 12, Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Morrison Playhouse at the Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts. The production features Brevard College student actors Lyric Contarino ‘27 and Miranda Burke ’29 and is directed by faculty member Abbey Toot.

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. There is no Friday performance.

The coming-of-age story brings together two high school seniors, Dell and Mara, through a school project and a shared mission to communicate with future generations about the dangers of nuclear waste buried beneath their community. As Dell and Mara grow closer, their priorities begin to shift, and they must decide what to carry forward and what to leave behind as they take their next steps in life. Exploring queer identity, the story follows two people who influence one another and question the marks we leave on the world around us.

Tickets are $5 for students, faculty and staff and $15 for the general public. Tickets are available at onthestage.tickets/brevard-college or at the door, if available. For more information, visit brevard.edu/theatre or call 828-641-0605.
