Brevard College alumna Lily Bartleson ’18 will return to her alma mater for a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” prior to the BC vs. Methodist Homecoming Football game on Saturday, October 8. The national anthem will be performed by Bartleson just prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff of the football game at Ives-Lemel Family Field on the campus of Brevard College.
Bartleson, a 26-year old actress residing in her hometown of Burnsville, North Carolina, graduated from Brevard College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Studies. After graduating, she found her way to Chicago, Illinois where she acted and also participated in theatre for nearly two years. Eventually, Bartleson returned to the mountains of North Carolina to care for her mother and reconnect with her southern, small-town roots. She can currently be found acting in the Asheville, Weaverville and Burnsville areas of Western North Carolina.
Bartleson is elated about revisiting her alma mater and seeing how the college has evolved since her time as a student in the Theatre program.
“Coming back to campus is nostalgic; this is where my career began, where I met lifelong friends, and created strong connections with professors during my time,” said Bartleson, “I look forward to being brought back in time and seeing these new students and their journeys as college students. And seeing old faces, too!”
Bartleson’s performance of the national anthem will be broadcast live on the Brevard College Tornados YouTube Channel as part of the pre-game festivities prior to the Homecoming Football game.
Single-game football tickets are available when gates open two hours before kickoff. General admission tickets at the gate are $10 for adults with kids 12 and under admitted free. Brevard College students are admitted free with BC identification. Students from visiting institutions will be admitted for $5 with school ID.
