Carnes, McKnight Named CSC Academic All-District Performers

MBB CSC 2025

Brevard College men’s basketball student-athletes Jadon Carnes and Brock McKnight have been named 2024-25 CSC Men’s Basketball Academic All-District performers, selected by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) organization.

The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952.

Carnes is a junior forward hailing from Concord, North Carolina who is majoring in Physical Education and Recreation at Brevard College.  In 2024-25, Carnes averaged 11.3 points-per-game, the second straight year that he has posted a double-digit scoring average.  Carnes also recorded 73 assists and 71 rebounds this past season, while starting every game of the year.

A sophomore guard from Sparta, North Carolina, McKnight is a Physical Education and Recreation major at BC.  McKnight played in all 24 games this season for the Tornados as a valuable reserve, highlighted by a career-high 11-point performance in a 99-93 win over Piedmont.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
