Brevard College men’s basketball student-athletes Jadon Carnes was recently named a 2023-24 Academic All-District performer, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952. The Men’s Basketball Academic All-America teams will be announced in April.
A sophomore from Concord, North Carolina, Carnes is majoring in Physical Education & Recreation. On the court, Carnes led the team in field goal percentage (.617) and was second in scoring (10.8 ppg) for the Tornados in 2023-24.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
