Musser Named Assistant Track & Field Coach at Brevard College

Isabell Musser has been named Assistant Track & Field Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Track & Field Josh Hall.  Musser will begin her duties at BC on August 1 in advance of the 2024-25 season.

“I am very excited to add Isabell to the track and field coaching staff,” said Coach Hall. “Being a local to Brevard, Coach Musser knows the area and the school very well. She will bring a new and exciting level of coaching to the throws program.”

Musser is a 2024 graduate of Brevard College, a native of Brevard, North Carolina and a product of Brevard High School.

“Having competed for nearly a decade, I am deeply honored and excited about this opportunity,” said Musser. “I am grateful for the chance to apply my expertise to help the team grow and excel in their events. Additionally, I am thrilled to remain in my hometown and pursue my passion.  Go Nados!”

Musser is coming off a highly successful senior season at Brevard College where she earned a plethora of accolades in throwing events as a captain for the Tornados Track & Field team.  She won the Women’s Discus at the USA South Track & Field Championships to earn First-Team All-Conference honors, while also earning Second-Team All-Conference in Women’s Shot Put.  Musser also was named USA South Field Athlete of the Week following to third-place results in shot put and discus plus a top-ten finish in javelin at the highly competitive 2024 Susan Rouse Invitational in Central, South Carolina.  

Highly active both on campus and in the community, Musser was a leader with the Black Student Union and the Student-Advisory Advisory Committee at BC.  Furthermore, she has served as a study hall tutor, a volunteer track coach at Brevard Middle School and as an intern with Transylvania County Animal Services. 

Academically, Musser earned selections on the CSC Academic All-District team, the USA South Academic All-Conference team and the Dean’s List at Brevard College.

Musser graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Brevard College in the spring of 2024.
