This academic year, Brevard College Football earned two selections on the 2023 National Football Foundation’s renowned Hampshire Honor Society. BC football student-athletes Justin Parker and Reece Rubio were both selected to the prestigious group of college football athletes across all NCAA divisions and the NAIA.
Parker is a graduate offensive lineman in Brevard College’s Health and Human Performance Master’s program. A native of Candler, North Carolina, Parker was a three-time recipient of CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors. He played on the offensive line in 39 career games for the Tornados and was a second-team All USA South Conference selection as a sophomore.
Rubio is a senior linebacker from Beaumont, Texas who will graduate from Brevard College this Spring with a degree in Business and Organizational Leadership. Rubio registered 33 tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss as a senior in 2022
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either:
· A senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2022; or
· A graduated player, who has been out of high school at least (3) years; And must have: · Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and
· Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2022 season.
