Brevard College volleyball student-athletes Makenna Parkins and Jaxson Tumicki have been named 2024 CSC Volleyball Academic All-District performers, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Parkins and Tumicki both earned Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year.

The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952. The Volleyball  Academic All-America teams will be announced next month.

A senior from Marion, North Carolina, Parkins will graduate with a degree in Exercise Science from Brevard College.  Parkins accumulated totals of 1,072 kills and 521 digs in her volleyball at BC. In 2024, she led the Tornado attack with 282 kills.

Tumicki, an Environmental Studies major, led Brevard with 50 total blocks (29 solo) in 2024.  A junior middle blocker from Brandon, Florida, Tumicki has played a valuable part in BC’s success throughout her three seasons.

The 2024 Brevard College volleyball team advanced to the USA South Conference Championship Tournament for the second straight season under Head Coach Abbie Parde.  With a 15-14 overall record this season, the BC won its most victories as a program since 2009.

The 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
