Tyler Frazee Named USA South Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week

Brevard College Men’s Tennis freshman Tyler Frazee has been selected as the USA South Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week after an impressive week for the Tornados.

The freshman from Tampa, Florida earned a 2-0 singles record and a 1-1 doubles mark last week for BC Men’s Tennis. The victories in singles came at the number-three and number-two spots over opponents from Spartanburg Methodist and USA South foe Berea, respectively. In doubles, he teamed with Andrew Ingram to grab an 8-2 win at Berea.

The distinction for Frazee marks the 15th USA South weekly honor garnered by a Brevard College student-athlete this academic year.

USA South Picks Katherine Collins as Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse freshman Katherine Collins has been selected as the USA South Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Tornados to an undefeated 2-0 weekend on the road at USA South competition.

The Marietta, Georgia freshman goalkeeper collected two wins over USA South opposition last week by collecting 16 saves and eight ground balls. In a 10-8 win over LaGrange, Collins totaled seven saves and one ground ball. In a 7-6 victory over Huntingdon, Collins stopped nine shots and grabbed seven ground balls.

The distinction for Collins marks the 16th USA South weekly honor garnered by a Brevard College student-athlete this academic year, and the second BC Women’s Lacrosse student-athlete selected for an award as teammate Hannah Scharf garnered Rookie of the Week honors earlier in the season.
