Five Brevard College student-athletes from the 2024 USA South Conference Regular Season Champion women’s soccer team have been named CSC Academic All-District performers, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Brevard women’s soccer has garnered an impressive 17 Academic All-District selections over the past three seasons.
Brevard College’s Kennedy Kelly, Haley Kenney, Kiara Porcelli, MK Smoak and Rachael Trifoli were all named to the Academic All-District team for the Fall 2024 season. It marked the second consecutive All-District team honor for Kenney and Porcelli
The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952.
The Women’s Soccer Academic All-America teams will be announced in December.
Kelly, a sophomore defender from Miami, Florida, is majoring in Health Science at BC. She played in 17 games this season, making 16 starts as a key part of the BC defense that held opponents to just a total of just six goals on the season.
A senior midfielder from Webster, New Hampshire, Kenney will graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice. Playing in 17 games this season including 12 starts, Kenney recorded her first career goal and assist in the 2024 championship season.
A sophomore midfielder from Merrimack, New Hampshire, Porcelli scored eight goals in 2024 to help lead the BC attack. Porcelli’s success in the classroom comes as a Childhood Education major at BC.
Smoak, a sophomore from Charleston, South Carolina, who was a standout defender for the Tornados throughout 2024. At Brevard College, Smoak is majoring in Health Science.
Trifoli is a senior who played in all 18 games for BC, including 16 starts at midfield. A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Trifoli will graduate with a degree in Exercise Science.
The Brevard College women’s soccer team won the USA South Conference regular season championship for the first time in school history, finishing the season with an undefeated 15-0-3 record.
The 2024 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
