Dr. Betsy Burrows, Professor of Education and Director of Teacher Education at Brevard College, received the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to Norway, for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Dr. Betsy Burrows and her partner, Mark, live in the small Norwegian town of Halden, a small town that reminds them of Brevard.

Dr. Burrows is teaching at Ostfold University College, working at the Norwegian Center for English and Language Studies in Education, and visiting high schools and middle school classes throughout Norway.

The Women’s World Tour of Scandinavia came through Halden near Dr. Burrow’s downtown apartment.  “Watching all of the cyclist pass by, I could not help but think of Brevard College and our cycling teams,” Dr.  Burrows said.  She thought of several cyclists at Brevard College who are now professional cyclist racing in Europe and throughout the world.

Dr. Burrows reminds us, “This world is more connected than we know in so many ways.”
